Senior Mechanical Estimator – Newry

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will have responsibility for evaluating the cost of mechanical installations, typically for industrial and commercial projects. You will be creating estimates, on your own or as part of a team, allowing for all costs involved in a mechanical project.

Your key duties will include:

  • Timely preparation of and submission of mechanical estimates
  • Prepare take-off from specifications and drawings for all size of commercial projects
  • Take the lead role in mechanical projects from initial receipt to final handover to client
  • Review incoming enquiries, identifying items of manufacture and subcontract specialist services
  • Communicate with wholesalers, subcontract specialists and colleagues regarding live projects
  • Understand scope of works to individual project needs
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients; both new and existing

Key Skills:

  • Previously worked as a Senior Mechanical Estimator, Mechanical Estimator or Mechanical Engineer
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within mechanical estimating
  • Wide range of project experience within the mechanical sector
  • Experience in using estimating software
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in using Microsoft Office packages (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent telephone manner when speaking to new and current clients or wholesalers
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to negotiate tenders with suppliers & wholesalers
  • Ability to research and prepare cost effect bids

As an Intermediate Electrical Estimator, you will provide a range of administration services to the Estimating Team, in order to support the timely delivery of the team’s submissions.

Your key duties will include:

  • Timely preparation of and submission of electrical estimates
  • Assist Senior Estimators with take-off from specifications and drawings for all size of commercial projects
  • Assist Senior Estimators with electrical projects from initial receipt to final handover to client
  • Identify items of manufacture and subcontract specialist services
